DFW knows how to do Christmas! There are even more options this year with new shows, displays and days out on top of our usual annual favorites. Here is a selection of events to enjoy festive fun with the whole family this year.


Celebrate Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge! The resort transforms your stay into a winter wonderland with nightly snow showers in the Grand Lobby. With so many festive, free events taking place each day, there’s plenty of fun for the whole pack! He’s made his list and checked it twice, now he’s ready to see who’s been naughty or nice! Be on your best behavior as you visit Santa and share your holiday wishes with him. Don’t forget to snap a memorable picture and have a jolly old time!

Holiday in the National Parks

The Holiday in the National Parks special exhibit will be adorned with traditional and elegant decorations that decorated the White House in 2007, such as mixed greenery, gold ribbons, poinsettias, and white flowers, reflecting our nation’s breathtaking landscapes and historical sites.

Vitruvian Park Holiday Lights Spectacular

The most dazzling and spectacular time of the year is here!  Vitruvian Park transforms into a magical holiday wonderland during Vitruvian Lights.

Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas Show

During the 2019 holiday season, the whole family can make their way to a happy place thanks to a new collection of stories brought to life from beloved children’s author/illustrator Eric Carle. Enjoy Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?; 10 Little Rubber Ducks; Dream Snow; and of course, a reprisal of The Very Hungry Caterpillar – now celebrating its 50th birthday!

Winter Wonderland

Come to the local celebration of Frisco for the Holidays and enjoy a wonderful light display. Winter Wonderland is comprised of tents with different activities in each one!

When: Now through January 5
Where: Frisco Fresh Market, Frisco, TX

Gift of Lights

The largest Drive Thru light park in Texas. There is also a Santa’s Village with ice skating, train rides, pictures with Santa and refreshments. 

When: November 28, 2019 – January 5
Where: Texas Motor Speedway

The Pauline and Austin Neuhoff Christmas Village

Children and adults can explore these large themed houses and experience the holiday businesses including a bakery, a candy shop, Santa’s House and more. At night, the Christmas Village shops and trees shine bright with more than a million lights in the Arboretum. During the weekends and evenings, there are also volunteers dressed as a shopkeeper in each store, most passing out a sample of their wares, such as a piece of candy at the candy shop.

Dallas’ Snowday

SNOWDAY is an immersive experience inspired by the spirit of the holidays. Guests are invited to navigate their way through an imaginative wonderland of festive photo ops, enchanted rooms, interactive spaces and loads of nostalgic moments.

Where: The Plaza at Preston Center, Dallas

Galleria’s Grand Christmas Tree

The tallest indoor Christmas Tree is a sight you do not want to miss. The Galleria grand tree is a FREE holiday display inside the Galleria mall. It is a 95-foot tall structure, made up of more than 10,000 ornaments and 1,500 branches. Skate around the Christmas Tree and take in the view.
