Grapevine is a city located predominately in Tarrant County and has areas that extend into Dallas and Denton counties. The city is part of the Dallas Fort Worth Statistical Area and its city limits are mostly within the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, neighboring cities such as Irving and Coppell.

In recent years several wineries have opened in Grapevine, and the city has been very active in maintaining its historic downtown corridor. The city is adjacent to Grapevine Lake, a large reservoir impounded by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1952 and serves as both a source of water and recreational area. Part of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is located within the city limits, the largest portion of any municipality bordering the facility.

There are a variety of activities you can enjoy on your own or with a group. There are multiple movie theaters with standard and dine-in options, as well as the historic Palace Arts Center on Main St. that shows both classic movies and live entertainment. Family activities are abundant with activities like a ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, Lego Land, and the Sea Life Aquarium. If you’re looking for some quiet relaxation, hit a round of golf at the Cowboys Golf Club or take a tour of local wineries. Historic Grapevine is also know for its festivals throughout the year and other community activities. Visit the Convention and Visitors Bureau website for an updated calendar of events.

The Parks and Recreation department offers more programs than any other North Texas city their size. Besides their beautiful parks, they also offer a variety of programs including organized sports for kids and adults, outdoor recreation, and opportunities to volunteer. For outdoor recreation, there are numerous parks around Grapevine Lake with parks and trails for hiking, biking, or riding horses, beaches to enjoy some swim time, and boat ramps and marinas for those who enjoy being out on the water. There are other community parks with playgrounds, sports fields, splash pads, and even a Botanical Garden. Visit the Parks and Recreation website to learn more.
